For me it is some server for us and anyone else to download files that
we in the project want to make accessible. And the file integrity and
origin should be traceable. This could be accomplished by simply
checking them into the git repo with a signed commit. But git is not
really the best tools for 500-100 MByte or GByte files. My experience
with Trac is that it normally also is not to happy handling big files.
Case in point: I've spent the weekend generated BIG files with binary
data from two different FPGA based entropy sources. In order to allow
other people in the project as well as anybody else to analyze the data
they need to be able to download these files from some sort of file
server. I think.
Does that clarify the use case. An answer like "You are wrong, simply
use XYZ instead" is fine too. As long as we solve the use case.
