Based on functionality I don't see it as alpha specific either. It is
more specific to the Microchip SRAM since the mkmif can send the
spcecfic commands the memory understands. But its basically a SPI
intertface wit a command handler on top and an API on top of that.

I'm currently testing the design using the FPGA in the Alpha and one of
Fredriks older noise boards.
