That is not what I said though.
The question is if the Crypteh design needs debug output ports that are
independent of SW. Or if we are comfortable enough to instead implement
a debug output function on pins using SW as driver.
Being able to see that things are alive, some state have been reached in
some way by glancing at LEDs can imho be easier than connecting via
serial port, opening a terminal and interrogating via SW. Note "can".
