I will start from scratch w the .vdi I used to create the VM. I did find that this did have a CD source listed which resulted in a prompt to load it. I'll try again w this commented out and make sure I've got a valid online source listed.

installable Please include complete output from your terminal window, starting with the prompt at which you typed the command. One way to record output in a shell session is to use the script tool. Also, please show what apt sources you are using. /etc/apt/sources.list
