Thanks for pointing to the workshop, looks very interesting.

And as a general (not Cryptech) comment - something that is sorely
needed. I see soo many, bad, insecure FW update mechanisms. Mostly
homegrown, but quite a few MCU vendors supplies FW update mechanisms
that really don't provide any security or have fundamental flaws.

The way Apple solutoin for SW updates for iOS is imho really impressive
(imho) and shows that secure mechanisms can scale to high volume, cost
sensitive (albeit not cheap) devices.
