Then follow my advice and use SEPIC converter, its output voltage can be 
both higher and lower that input voltage. It will allow you to have 
stable 12.5V from unstable 9..15V input. Then place 12V LDO, that will 
use 0.5V margin to filter all the switching ripple. Pick SEPIC with as 
low switching frequency as possible, then place an LDO that still has 
some good rejection beyond this frequency. You will have like super 
clean 12V power supply rail.
