FredrikT also wants to have a stable 12V for the avalanche noise and
that is why we provisionally penned 18V into the design to allow margin
for good DC/DC converison

The novena supports having primary power up to 19V and the power adapter
that came with my board provides 16V @ 3.75A which according to spec is
actually outside of the spec.

So a modified power supply from the Novena should work.
