That is way to early to answer before we have the requirement spec. Please do this in a sound engineering way and not decide on details before we know what we need.

We can decide on high level things such that we want to use ARM based CPUs or Altera FPGAs. We can even guess on what device family to use.

But the specific interface will (should) be set on what the CPUs can support and what our use cases requires in terms of capacity and latency.

I'm sorry for not responding fast enough, but it is Sunday and must respond to family too.
