In principle I agree. The board you got is interesting but has no direct
interface to the FPGA. And the FPGA is much smaller which makes it hard
to do verification on bigger cores and complete HW subsystem.

The board I have however is a bit in the complex side while lacking
headers that we need. I'm prepared to investigate a few hours to find a
better board that is easier to get. Any suggestions are highly welcome.

(But have you been in contact with Terasic or Arrow, I think the boards
are possible to get fairly easy.)
