a) To which of the several secure boundaries that various core members
   have urged upon us are you referring at the moment? :)/2

b) libhal and PKCS #11 already support hashing, including
   hash-and-sign, but only for all-at-once hashing.  Incremental
   hashing is a better fit for most of the APIs I've seen.
