I will update the Wiki, but, FWIW, I have been generating what appear
to be working Novena bitfiles using 14.7 on a 32-bit Debian Wheezy VM
under VirtualBox on MacOSX.

I don't recall having done anything beyond following the (admittedly
somewhat terse) directions on our Wiki.
The only real problem I had was that I kept underestimating what a pig
the Xilinx tool set is: I had to rebuild the VM three times before I
guessed a big enough disk size. No voodoo, just specify bigger
virtual disk and install again.
