Elliptic Curve was still a patent-troll-rich environment last I heard,
but I defer to folks like Russ who follow this more closely.

Not in the sense you mean, although I haven't done a trawl of the
entire code base looking for booby traps.

The known IPR issue with cryptlib is that it's dual-license.  For us,
license is almost certainly BSD-ish (Sleepycat variant).  The
potential problem is for commercial users downstream of us, who might
be required to purchase a cryptlib commercial license depending on
their intended use.

So the question here is really more one of project direction (is this
acceptable?) than a question for IPR lawyers.  I've been trying to
avoid getting into this question until we know whether cryptlib is
technically suitable.

Paul, have I missed anything you know about?
